Last bare root roses still in stock - Place your order today and enjoy a 20% Discount.
Another fantastic year for Roses!
Together with our loyal customers and rose lovers, who seem to enlarge their garden every year and always find the space to add new rose plants to their collection, we are now supplying roses to new and young gardeners, who have begun growing roses in the last 2 years, thanks to lockdowns and restrictions that “forced” them to stay home and have more time to look after their living space…
If we can find a positive side for each difficult situation, this is certainly one of the best for the emergency we are experiencing now. We are receiving many emails and phone calls from our new gardeners and we are happy to help as much as we can; we know a nice and healthy rose garden always brings happiness and beauty… and we certainly need all of this now.
Our busy digging season is now at its end, and we are sending out bare root roses for 10 more days, before closing all online sales for this year.
We still have some varieties available and we’ll probably have more in the next few days, when the counting of our overs will be completed. To celebrate the end of this successful year, we’re offering 20% Discount on all bare root roses still in stock, until September 10.
If you still have a little space in your garden or you’re looking for a special gift, take advantage of this offer and place your order today; roses will be posted as soon as we receive your order.

| We often talk about our roses as people, with their personalities, their habits, qualities and also – why not? - limits. So, we’ve put together a list of Things Roses Like and you should provide to make them happy and receive many blooms in return. - A soil with ph6.5: they grow perfectly in a soil which is not too acidic and not too basic, and it’s exactly what we have here in Kalangadoo (and the reason Brian moved down here 20 years ago).
- At least 6 hours of direct sun each day.
- Mulch around the plant, to retain moisture (like lucerne, legume straw or a super-mulch called WhoFlungDung), and only when the rose is established and has a canopy of leaves. Watch the Video.
- Water deeply and often in summer time (always water 24 hours before a very hot day), depending on the soil type and temperature; you may need to water twice a week if it’s hot and windy, or every ten days in normal conditions, as long as it’s a deep watering. Watch the Video.
- Fertilize a little and often (between 2 and 4 weeks), alternating different kinds of products. Liquid fish and kelp base products used together will have excellent results, but remember to use ocean fish instead of fresh water fish products.
- A light pruning (or deadheading) after each flush, to encourage a quicker re-flowering. Watch the Video.
Roses Don't Like... - A superficial and quick watering, even if done every day, as it doesn’t reach the roots.
- Competition around them, like trees or other plants.
- Compact and hard ground.
- Glysophate around them: even drift spray can kill a rose.

| The last bare root roses for this season - still over 60 varieties available - will need to find a new home by September 10.
After this date, we’ll stop bare root sales and we’ll have a short break, before putting online our potted roses around late October.
Discount will automatically be applied online; sale will end on September 10, or until stock lasts.

| If one of your new bare root roses hasn’t woken up from dormancy yet, you can encourage it along by placing a trickling hose at the base of the plant for 2 hours on day 1, and then watering with a 9L watering can with Seasol for the following 5 days.
You should then see buds starting to appear.
