We've created a new collection to help you choose the right rose, when you need a special gift and you want to attach a very personal message to it.

A Challenging but Rewarding Month

With the office operating from home and self-distancing applied in the field and in the shed, we certainly had to start working in a very different way.

Difficult, not always as fast as usual and challenging for all of us, especially with digging season knocking at our door and all the plants ready to be lifted.

But we are doing it and it's going well!

Brian and I feel very lucky because we can rely on an amazing staff, keen to give it a go always with a smile.

And we feel lucky also because we have you supporting us and following what we do.

For us, it's business as usual; our doors might be closed to public visits, but our website is open and we are here to answer your emails and phone calls.

We are receiving many orders for bare-root roses, and some popular varieties are already sold out.

So, place your order soon, if you haven't done yet, to avoid disappointment.

Our autumn sale for potted roses was very successful, but we had to end it earlier because of the huge delays Australia Post was experiencing in the last few weeks. While bare-root roses can easily stay for weeks in their box without any problem, potted roses have a shorter tolerance and we thought it was safer to pause our potted rose sale online for the moment.

Potted roses are still available of course, but only if collected from the gate of our nursery, and they'll be back online in Springtime.

So, thank you for supporting our business and for your patience in this period.

We can't wait to prepare and post your bare root orders - starting from July - and make you happy with new and beautiful roses growing in your garden.

Roses with a special meaning

We're often asked to suggest a rose able to deliver a special message together with its beauty.

I love you, I miss you, Thank you, Remember me, You are very special, Happy anniversary...

To help your choice, we've created a new collection with all varieties that have a special meaning in their name: Roses for Special Occasions.

Roses are already a special gift, but if they carry a meaning they become really precious and difficult to forget.

The Gift of the choice

Mother's Day is just next Sunday, but celebrating it with your mum or the mum of your partner could be really hard this year, if not impossible due to self-isolation and travel restrictions.

Say to your mum that you are thinking of her by sending a gift card that could allow her to choose new roses for herself.

Our Gift vouchers are delivered to you via email as soon as ordered, they have a code to use online at the checkout, they don't expire and can be of any amount.

Considering the delays that Australia Post is experiencing at the moment, one of our Gift Vouchers could be a great idea for a special Mother's Day.

In your garden this month...

May is a very quiet month for gardening. Roses get ready for winter and start their dormant stage, and if you haven't done yet, it's time to prepare the bed for the arrival of new plants.

We are often asked when it's time to prune the roses; "Traditionally winter pruning should be done from the shortest day of the year - Brian explains - never before then".

So, no need to do any pruning before June.

In the meantime, jump on our website and order new roses for your garden. Have you seen our beautiful  2020 Releases?

Did You Know...?

When digging season begins, things start happening very fast at the nursery: it's a busy and intense period, and at the end of the day we are all very tired.

The staff in the field lift and prune thousands of plants every day, and Brian is able to grade, select and allocate for orders up to 6,000 plants a day.
